Literature. Behounek & Ronkay 1989; Behounek et al. 2010; Dufay 1970; Hacker, et al. 2001; Hacker et al. 1999; Ronkay 1987.

General distribution pattern. In tropical and subtropical Africa: Burkina Faso, Comoros, Eritrea, Ghana, Réunion, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mauritius, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa and São Tomé & Principe. In the Palearctic region it has been found in the Canaries, Yemen, Oman and nearly all over tropical Asia.

Distribution in Ethiopia. Throughout country except elevations above 3.000 m. Common.

Host plants. Polyphagous. Recorded on Eucalyptus sp. ( Myrtaceae ), Nicotiana sp. ( Solanaceae ).
