General distribution pattern. Throughout tropical and subtropical Africa: Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. In Palearctic region found in Oman, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

Distribution in Ethiopia. Everywhere except highlands above 3.000 m and deserts. Common.
