Nippogonalos Uchida, 1929: 79; Tsuneki 1991: 4; Lelej 1995: 12; Weinstein and Austin 1991: 412. Type species (by monotypy): Nippogonalos jezoensis Uchida, 1929. Synonymised by Bischoff 1938.

Makotogonalos Yamane, 2014: 18 (proposed as subgenus). Type species (by original designation): Bareogonalos huisuni Yamane & Yamane, 1975.

Biology.

Reared from nests of Vespa , Vespula , Dolichovespula and Provespa spp. ( Vespinae: Vespidae ); the larva of at least one species has a final ectoparasitoid phase ( Carmean and Kimsey 1998) after the initial endoparasitoid phase. Collected in August–October.

Distribution.

East Palaearctic, Nearctic (but intruding Central America by reaching SW Mexico), Oriental.
