21. Lemula (s. str.) shaanxiensis View in CoL sp. nov.
(Figs. X-21, XI-21)
Diagnosis. Male: BL = 6.6–7.9 mm. Head and pronotum metallic dark blue green; antennae with scape metallic green and rest dark brown; elytra shiny greenish blue; ventral surface dark bluish green and abdominal ventrites I to II or III black, and III or IV to V light yellow. Head with labrum and clypeus with pale hairs; vertex and temples sparsely covered with feeble pale long hairs; pronotum sparsely covered with erect short brownish hairs intermixed a few long pale hairs; elytra densely furnished with suberect bristle-like black hairs which are more than two times as long as space between punctures; metasternum and legs furnished with subrecumbent brown hairs.
Head wider than pronotum, moderately covered with deep punctures on vertex and occiput; vertex weakly raised with narrow median furrow; occiput depressed medially with median longitudinal impunctate area; temples behind eyes obliquely narrowed, then more or less angularly constricted toward neck; antennae slightly exceeding middle of elytra; relative lengths of antennomeres from base to apex as follows: 23: 8: 14: 14: 21: 20: 21: 20: 19: 18: 26.
Pronotum slightly shorter than width at lateral tubercles (PL/PW = 0.94); disk well convex with weak median longitudinal depression, moderately covered with distinct fine punctures. Scutellum tongue shaped with few punctures.
Elytra shorter than twice humeral width (EL/EW = 1.92), without vestigial protrusion at apex along suture; disk densely covered with fine punctures, space between punctures nearly twice size of each puncture.
Endophallus (Type C). Dorsal view: CT gradually narrowed to PB with weak constriction, dm elongate tongue shaped; APH was not well inflated by technical problem (only one male specimen was available) but supposed to be same with L. shaanxiensis . Lateral view: CT strongly inflated ventrally; border of PC and PB not narrowed and strongly curved dorsally with deep ventral constriction; PB rather flat in ventrally with protruded proximal corner; APH oval.
Female: BL = 7.1–7.9 mm, EL/EW = 1.84. Similar to male, but elytra distinctly shorter than twice humeral width, and antennae reaching middle of elytra.
Etymology. Species name is derived from the type locality.
Type series. Holotype ( CCH): ♂, Huaying (Ψlj), 2,200 m, Weinan, Shaanxi, China, 4-VI-2016, Chao Wu leg, (G-1000).
Paratypes: [ China]: Huaying (Ψlj), Weinan , Shaanxi [1♀, 2,200 m, 4-VI-2016, Chao Wu leg, (G-1000)]; Qinlingshan (秦嶺m), 12 km SW of Xunyangba, Shaanxi, [1♂, 2♀♀, 1,900–2,250 m, 14–18-VI-2000, C. Hol- zschuh leg.]; Huashan (Ψm), Luonan-Xian, Shangluo-Shi, Shaanxi [2♂♂, 17–21-VI-1991, R. Dunda leg. (G- 1102)]; Qiujiaba (邱τ壩), Wen-xian, Gansu [4♂♂, 1♀, 2,400 m, 30-VI-1998, W.-I Chou leg. (G̅1017, 1018)] .
Distribution. China (Shaanxi, Gansu).
Ecology. Flight period: June.
Remarks. This new species can be separated from the L. (s. str.) par by the long elytral hairs and not protruded elytral apices. Lemula (s. str.) pilifera also has long elytral hairs, but it is distinguishable from this new species by different abdominal color and rather long antennae which exceeded middle of elytra in male.
