17. Lemula (s. str.) fracta Holzschuh, 1998 View in CoL

(Figs. IX-17, XII-17, XV-14)

Lemula fracta Holzschuh, 1998: 7 View in CoL , fig. 4. Type locality: Emeishan, Sichuan, China.

Diagnosis. Male: BL = 7.0–9.0 mm. Head, antennae, pronotum and legs shiny black; elytra metallic blue-green; ventral surface dark bluish green; abdominal ventrites I and II black, and III to V light yellow. Head and pronotum sparsely covered with short brownish hairs; elytra evenly furnished with suberect short bristle-like dark brown hairs which are same as long as space between punctures; metasternum and legs with subrecumbent pale hairs.

Head moderately covered with fine punctures; vertex weakly raised with shallow median furrow; occiput slightly depressed medially; antennae exceeding middle of elytra.

Pronotum sparsely covered with fine punctures, slightly wider than long with a distinct conical tubercle at middle of each side; disk well convex with distinct median longitudinal depression. Scutellum tongue shaped with few punctures.

Elytra slightly shorter than twice humeral width (EL/EW = 1.91), disk moderately covered with fine but well limited round punctures.

Endophallus (Type C). Quite similar with that of L. coerulea in general structure without obvious differences.

Female: BL = 7.9–9.1 mm; EL/EW = 1.86. Body color same with male except for abdominal ventrites which are entirely light yellow. Antennae slightly exceeding middle of elytra.

.

Distribution. China (Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi).

Ecology. Flight period: April–June. Flower records: Sorbus , Cornus .

Remarks. As indicated by Holzschuh (1998) in the original description, this species shows sympatric distribution with L. (s. str.) pilifera in Emeishan , Sichuan, but it is easily distinguishable from the latter by short and suberect hairs on the elytra rather than long and erect hairs, entirely yellowish female abdominal ventrites and also different character of endophallus.
