Diagnosis. Male. This species is recognized by having antennal segment IV fusiform, with apex acute; metasternum armed laterally with medium-sized blunt tubercles ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 1 – 6 ); fore and middle tibiae with outer margin dilated, and inner straight; midpoint of abdominal sternite III armed with medium-sized entire tubercle ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 7 – 11 ); and genital capsule simple, with posteroventral edge straight, not exposed. The female has antennal segment IV fusiform, its apex acute; metasternum armed laterally with small blunt tubercles; fore and middle tibiae with outer margin dilated, inner straight; and abdominal sterna unarmed.

Type locality. AFRICA: Nigeria, Calabar District, Mongo-ma-Lobah ( BMNH, type male examined).

Distribution. This species is widespred throughout Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo (Basongo, Bikoro, Boende, Bwito, Eala-Bokatola, Epelu, Gali-Koko, Karawa, Kimbele, Kindu, Komi, Kondué, Lakulu, Malela, Mongembo, Ponthierville, and Sibiti), Guinea, and Nigeria (Calabar District) ( Blöte 1938, Distant 1881, Garcia Varela 1913, Schouteden 1913, Schouteden 1938, Villiers 1973).

Material examined. New records. AFRICA: SPANISH GUINEA: 1 male, 1 female, Ayene, VII-1948 and 3-X-1948, E. Ortiz ( MNCN). CAMEROON: 2 males, 1 female, Mabeta-Victoria, VII-VIII-1949, S. Tita, and 24-V-7-VI-1949, B. Malkin ( CASC, UNAM); 1 male, Dengdeng Godje, 11-26-III-1914, S. G. Mildbread ( ZMHB). DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: 1 male, Wenga, 165 m (without date), E. Quineaux ( IRNB).
