Notes: The specimens of Caballero y Caballero (1958) and Bravo-Hollis & Caballero-Deloya (1979) were recorded as Gnathostoma spinigerum ; notwithstanding, both records belong to G. turgidum , in accordance with Lamothe-Argumedo et al. (1998). The specimens cited by Almeyda-Artigas et al. (2000) were designed as Gnathostoma sp. III, but its molecular ITS-2 rDNA sequence is identical to those of G. turgidum .
