Distribution. NE: introduced USA (Oregon & California). PA: Caucasus & Kazakstan, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Italy, Turkey.

Egyptian localities. Coastal Strip: Alexandria, Mariout, Nuzha . Eastern Desert: Geneifa, Ismailiya, Wadi Hoff, Wadi Rishrash . Lower Nile Valley and Delta: Abu Rawash, Barrage, Cairo and its neighborhoods, Ezbet El-Nakhl, Faraskour, Helwan, Kafr Hakim, Kerdassa, Mansouria, Mazghouna, Wardan . Sinai: Central Sinai . Western Desert: Sakkara.

Host plants. Flower heads of starthistles ( Centaurea spp.). Sources: Efflatoun (1924a); Freidberg & Kugler (1989).
