Melieria nigritarsis Becker, 1903: 130 View in CoL . Syntypes. Egypt (Damietta and Fayoum) (ZMHB). Distribution. AF: south to Namibia, Kenya. PA: Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, European Russia, Saudi Arabia, Siberia, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, western China. Egyptian localities. Coastal Strip: Alexandria, Cleopatra, Dekheila, Mariout. Fayoum: Eastern Desert: Ismailiya. Fayoum City. Lower Nile Valley and Delta: Abu Rawash, Helwan, Kafr Hakim, Kerdassa. Western Desert: Abu Mongar, Dakhla Oasis, Kharga Oasis.
Plants from which flies were swept. Cogon or Satintail grass ( Imperata View in CoL sp.).
Dates of collection. February to October.
