Specimen examined. PERU. Ayacucho: Huamanga, Acocro, route PE-3S, km 452, towards Sachamamba Km 204, 4062 m, 13º25′25”S, 74º02′27”W, 21 Apr 2017, leaves of Festuca orthophylla , puna vegetation, Lado 24950 (MA-Fungi 96147) GoogleMaps .
Notes. This specimen matched the principal characters of the typical form of the species, i.e., flexuous capillitium with dichotomic free ends indistinctly widened. However, it differs in the spore size, 9–10 µm in diameter in the Peruvian material vs. 12–13 µm in the original description of P. fimbriata .
