Specimen examined. PERU. Ancash: Bolognesi, Huasta, Chiquian , route AN-1263 towards Huallanca , km 39, 4002 m, 10º10′41”S, 76º55′52”W, 15 May 2018, leaves and woody debris of Polylepis sp. , Lado 26788 (MA-Fungi 97557) .

Notes. The distinct feature of this species is the globose sporotheca, sometimes almost immersed on the white hypothallus, while the stalked sporocarps are unusual ( Farr 1976). It may be confused with Diachea subsessilis Peck , but the latter has reticulate spores. Martin & Alexopoulos (1969) reported samples with short cylindrical or absent columella; Peruvian specimens show conical columella.
