Description. Holotype: 3. Length, 10 mm ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 h, 6l). Body metallic blue, basal tergites and hind leg metallic purple; clypeus blackish brown; small lateral macula of 2nd tergite white. Tibiae, tarsi and anterior sides of femora of fore and middle legs and tibial spurs of each leg pale brown. Forewing infuscate hyaline, cell C dark brown, stigma and veins blackish brown, hind wing hyaline. Body hairs pale.
Punctures on head dense ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 a), punctures on clypeus small and sparse, interspaces shiny; punctures on temple shallow, distance between punctures about equal to diameter of punctures, interspaces shiny; postocellar area punctured with shiny interspaces; pronotum densely punctured; punctures on mesoscutum sparse, interspaces longer than diameter of punctures, punctures on anterior slope of mesoscutellum sparse, interspaces equal to diameter of punctures, posterior slope densely punctured; posttergite microsculptured; metascutellum punctured, interspaces microsculptured; upper half of mesepisternum coarsely and densely punctured, punctures on venter of mesepisternum small and sparse, interspaces microsculptured; recess of mesepimeron microsculptured, posterior margin of mesepimeron shiny and dorsum coarsely and densely punctured; dorsum of metepisternum densely punctured; middle and posterior of metepimeron shiny, dorsum densely punctured; 1st abdominal tergite shiny except area near middle furrow with sparse and large punctures and lateral 1/4 of 1st tergite with dense punctures, other tergites microsculptured and shallowly punctured except 8th tergite shiny.
Hairs on dorsum of head and thorax and mesoscutellum straight, as long as transverse diameter of median ocellus; hairs on other parts of thorax shorter than transverse diameter of median ocellus; hairs on mesepisternum straight, slightly longer than transverse diameter of median ocellus. Anterior margin of clypeus truncate; malar space linear; head in front view with eyes converging below, lower interocular distance 0.8 × eye height; anterior margin of supraantennal tubercle elevated; middle fovea deep and broad, smaller than frons; frontal ridge narrow and obtuse; interocellar furrow shallow and deep, postocellar furrow broad and shallow; postocellar area slightly convex, lower than top of ocelli ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 b), without middle carina, about 1.3 × as broad as long; lateral furrows deep, slightly curved outwards, divergent posteriorly; head behind eyes equal to half of eyes in length in dorsal view, convex in base and narrowing posteriorly. Occipital groove shallow and weak. Antenna 1.4 × head and thorax combined in length. Mesoscutellum roundly elevated, not higher than scutum ( Fig. 21 View FIGURE 21 c); posttergite without middle carina; metascutellum with a fine middle carina; mesepisternum angularly elevated, without ventral spur. Apex of hind tibia distinctly enlarged; metabasitarsus 4.5 × as long as broad, 0.8 × length of remaining 4 tarsomeres combined; hind inner tibial spur 0.4 × length of metabasitarsus. Hind wing with petiole of anal cell shorter than half length of cu-a. Subgenital plate about as broad as long, apical margin round; genitalia as in Figs 14 View FIGURE 14 a, 15a.
Female: Unknown.
Etymology. The specific epithet, an adjective, refers to the short body hairs which are not longer than the diameter of median ocellus.
Specimens examined. Holotype: 3, Fangxiang (26º26.6´N, 108º16.5´E), Mt. Leigong, Guizhou, alt. 1180 m, 5 June 2005, Luo Qinghuaileg., CSCSHT 0 0 810032 (CSCS).
Distribution. China (Guizhou).
Remarks. The new species is similar to S. obtusiscutellata , but differs from the latter by the following: postocellar area slightly elevated, lower than top of ocelli, interspaces between punctures on the postocellar area shiny; middle fovea broad and deep, not smaller than frontal basin; mesoscutellum almost flat, interspaces of punctures on the mesoscutellum about equal to diameter of the punctures, posttergite without middle carina,; hind tibial spur pale brown. In S. obtusiscutellata : postocellar area distinctly elevated, higher than top of ocelli, interspaces between punctures on postocellar area of male narrow, microsculptured; middle fovea shallow, obviously smaller than frontal basin; mesoscutellum round, distinctly elevated, interspaces of punctures on mesoscutellum broader than diameter of punctures, posttergite with a middle longitudinal carina; hind tibial spur blackish brown.
