Global distribution. Western Atlantic: From eastern Florida , Gulf of Mexico, Greater Antilles , Virgin Islands and Lesser Antilles, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela to São Paulo , Brazil.

Records in Cuba. Cuba is the type locality, other specimens from Santiago de Cuba (Santiago de Cuba Bay and Aguadores) ( Diez & Jover 2015).
