Type Locality: Japan, Okinawa Isl, Kunigami-mura, Aha, upper stream of Funga River.
Vernacular Names: Yanbaru Myotis.
Distribution: Northern Okinawa Isl ( Japan); known only from the type locality.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Data Deficient.
Discussion: Apparently related to pruinosus and montivagus ; see Kawai et al. (2003).
