Lycophantis elongata Moriuti, 1963: 266 View in CoL .
Type locality: China ( Taiwan). Holotype in USNM.
Diagnosis. This species is similar to L. stenopetala sp. nov. by the elongate forewing with the length almost six times of its maximum width. The differences between them in the male genitalia are discussed under L. stenopetala sp. nov.. In the female genitalia ( Fig. 5b View FIGURE 5 ), L. elongata is characterized by having a rectangular signum with many denticles that are smaller centro-longitudinally.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 3b View FIGURE 3 ): Wingspan 11.0−14.0 mm.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 4b View FIGURE 4 ): Uncus with a small medial concavity posteriorly. Socius straight, armed with thick setae in distal 1/2. Tegumen with a tuft of slender setae in anterior 1/4 on ventral surface laterally (shed easily). Valva reniform, distal 1/3 with an elliptic area bearing dense fine setae, with sparse long setae apically; costa extending to apex of valva; sacculus reaching before apex of valva, with a row of clustered stout spines extending from base of its dorsal margin to near middle of ventral margin of valva. Saccus elongate, 2.7 times length of socius, slightly expanded distally. Phallus 3.5 times length of valva; cornuti composed of two slender sclerites, about 3/4 length of phallus.
