Description of Jannaschia rubra IMCC View in CoL 3052
Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, and rod-shaped. Colonies are irregular, smooth, shiny, and dark red colored after 10 days on MA at 25°C. Diffus- ible pigments are produced on MA. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, and urease and β -galactosidase activities, but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase in API 20NE. D-Glucose, D-mannose and malic acid are utilized. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, trisodium citrate, adipic acid, and phenylacetic acid. Strain IMCC3052 View Materials (= NIBRBA0000114257) was isolated from a seawater sample, Incheon, Korea .
