Plant more or less whitish-floccose-tomentose, usually with 1 non-flowering shoot. Stem (5-)15-30(-40) cm. Leaves 5-12 x 0-4-1 - 8 cm, lanceolate, few, 3(-5)-veined, patent, tomentose on both surfaces, the basal with petiole about as long as the lamina. Inflorescence occupying 0.1-0.25 of the length of the stem, compact, its subtending leaves as long as or longer than the inflorescence. Capitula 6-7 mm. Involucral bracts subelliptical, the inner shorter than the florets. Florets 3 - 5 mm, the female 35-45. Achenes 1 - 5 mm, hispid; pappus up to 4 mm, white. In = 56.
