Bergmans and Rozendaal (1988: 72) found the locality in a gazetteer with the coordinates, 01 ° 20 9 S, 119 ° 46 9 E.

These two places are a few kilometers northeast of the town of Mamasa, which is at about 1000 m. Local farmers trapped the rodents and brought them to members of the expedition, who later determined that the two places are at approximately 1500 m (H. Hasegawa, personal commun.).
