Type data
The single female specimen used to describe this species was collected by the Argentinean ornithologist Juan Bautista Daguerre (1890–1975) at Las Lomitas, central region of Formosa Province, northeastern Argentina. The labels of the holotype are quoted verbatim.

Distribution
This species has been recorded in Argentina (Formosa Province: Las Lomitas) ( Roig-Alsina 2000), Brazil (Mato Grosso state: Porto Murtinho) ( Vivallo & Melo 2009; Martins et al. 2013) and Paraguay (Boquerón Department: Toledo; San Pedro Department: Cororo) ( Vivallo & Melo 2009) ( Fig. 7 View Fig ).
