Diagnosis.
Male palp with two conductor apophyses (anterior conductor apophysis and posterior conductor apophysis) (Fig. 1B); only one conductor apophysis in other similar genera. There are two patellar apophyses (one or both of them are highly reduced in size in some species) in Platocoelotes species; other coelotines usually have only one. The female can be distinguished from other coelotines by the large epigynal atrium, the absence of epigynal teeth, simple spermathecae and indistinct copulatory ducts (Fig. 2 A–B).
