Ecological notes: found in broad-leaved and carr woodland; humid heathland; wetlands including fen, reed and sedge beds, acidic mire, wet meadows and saltmarsh; former gravel workings. vi–x.
Taxonomic note: As well as the listed types for Bradysia semantica from Laurence (1994: 114), 2 further examples from the location ‘Hickling, Norfolk’ with the dates 23.vi.−7.vii.1988 [1] and 22.viii.1988 [1] were found in Laurence’s collection in another box. These do not belong to the type series for Bradysia semantica .
