Holotype not seen; numerous males and females from Kenya in BMNH. One male was dissected and illustrated.

Male terminalia. Sternite 5 more or less triangular, with scattered medium-sized setae on disc and 6–7 longer setae on lobes ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 17 – 32 ); cercal plate large, higher than wide and surstylus very short ( Figs 30, 31 View FIGURES 17 – 32 ); cercal plate and surstylus are typical of the genus Spilogona and resemble those of a number of Holarctic species; aedeagal complex as in Fig. 32 View FIGURES 17 – 32 ; hypandrium “U” shaped.
