Espèce type: Libellula flavescens F., 1798.
Taille grande (L.: 48 mm), orangé; base des ailes postérieures très large, légèrement ambrée, boucle anale n’atteignant pas le bord postérieur, une macule terminale brunâtre au-delà du ptérostigma; base de l’abdomen orangée à rougeâtre, appendices anaux divergents.
