Diagnosis. Forewing length 7.5–10.0 mm ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 2−9 ). Hypatopa silvestrella is similar to H. moriutiella Sinev, 1986 in the male genitalia, but it can be separated by having a well sclerotized juxta, and dense dentitions on the phallus on the distal 1/7 laterally ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10−14 ). In H. moriutiella the juxta is ill-defined, and the phallus lacks dentitions. Hypatopa silvestrella is similar to H. biprojecta in the female genitalia, but it can be separated by the elongate cylindrical antrum ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 18−20 ), which is funnel-shaped in H. biprojecta .

Distribution. China (Gansu, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Jilin, Liaoning, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shanxi, Tianjin, Zhejiang), Japan, Korea, Russian Far East (Primorskiy and Khabarovskiy territories).
