Lectotype (Wijnands, Bot. Commelins: 163. 1983): [icon] "Arbor Coral Americana" in Commelin, Hort. Med. Amstelod. Pl. Rar. 1: 211, t. 108. 1697 (see p. 122).

Generitype of Erythrina Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 173. 1929).

Current name: Erythrina corallodendron L. View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 50. 1920) stated "Type in Herb. Linn." but they did not distinguish between 888.2 and 888.3 (LINN). As these two collections are not duplicates, Art. 9.15 does not apply and Wijnands’ typification stands.
