nitens ( Wiedemann), 1830 : 294 (Tachina). Type locality: “ Brazil ”. STs F (NHMW). Distr.: Mexico, Trinidad, Peru, Brazil, and Paraguay ( Guimarães, 1963a: 44; Thompson, 1963a: 408). Refs.: Guimarães, 1963a: 44 (redesc.); Thompson, 1963a: 408 (redesc., larval desc.); Guimarães, 1971a: 75 (cat.). Comm.: This species was not recorded to Colombia, but is likely to occur in the country. The NHMW curator Peter Sehnal (unpublished data) lists two females as syntypes.
