Type locality: “ Colombia ”. Type? Distr.: Colombia. Refs.: Röder, 1886: 264 (list); Guimarães, 1971a: 61 (cat.). Comm.: The name hystrix Rondani, 1865 appears twice in the Neotropical Catalogue by Guimarães (1971a): first at page 61, correctly listed as junior synonym of nigriventris Macquart View in CoL , and then at page 216, mispelled as “ histrix Rondani View in CoL ” in the list of “Unplaced species of Tachinidae View in CoL ” and treated as “unrecognized”.
