Medetera armeniaca Negrobov View in CoL in Negrobov and Stackelberg, 1974
Negrobov in Negrobov & Stackelberg, 1974: in Lindner, Flieg. palaearkt. Reg. 4(5): 285.
Grichanov, 2007: Plant Protection News Suppl., ISSN 1815-3682: 50 (as synonym of M. jacula ).
Grichanov (2007) synonymised this species with M. jacula , but provided without any discussion. However, both M. ameniaca and M. jacula are clearly distinguishable. In M. armeniaca the clypeus is shining medially (entirely pollinose in M. jacula ) and surstyli are strongly curved and broadened toward the apex (only slightly broadened toward apex in M. jacula (c.f. Figs. 17, 18 View FIGURES 11 – 18 and 3, 5 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ). On the basis of the distinct differences in male hypopygium, these two species are clearly valid and distinguishable.
