Allarete nigra has so far been known from a very few specimens collected in Finland, Austria, Kirghizstan, and Far East Russia ( Gagné & Jaschhof 2014), which suggests this species is trans-Palearctic in distribution. Here we report a single male specimen from the Swedish province of Västerbotten. This is the first record of the genus Allarete Pritchard in Sweden.
Material. Male (CEC4), Sweden, Västerbotten, Vindeln, Kulbäcksliden Experimental Park, 1–18 Aug. 2003, SMTP (trap 56, collecting event 199).
