Apion pilosellum Gravenhorst, 1807: 198
As specified above, this species has been synonymised by Alonso-Zarazaga (2011) with E. vorax on the basis of Gravenhorst’s handwritten note found in the original copy of the author’s book.
I agree with this opinion and, because no neotype has been formerly designated by Alonso-Zarazaga, I designate a specimen of E. vorax as the neotype of A. pilosellum . It is a male (fig. 4) labelled: Frankenhausen Kyff., 19.8.1963, K. Ermisch leg. / NEOTYPE Apion pilosellum Gravenhorst, 1807 , C. Giusto des. 2015 / Eutrichapion vorax (Herbst, 1797) , det. C. Giusto, 2015. Measurements: body length: 2.90 mm, Lr: 0.76 mm, Wmsr: 0.15 mm, Lp: 0.60 mm, Wp: 0.68 mm, Le: 2.05 mm, We: 1.17 mm.
