Type Locality: Indonesia, Sulawesi (" Celebes ").

Vernacular Names: Gorontalo Macaque.

Distribution: Sulawesi, east of Gorontalo, to Onggak Dumoga River ( Indonesia).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (conservation dependent).

Discussion: M. nemestrina species group. Separated from M. nigra by Groves (2001 c).
