The genus Antrocephalus comprises around 120 described species mostly distributed in the Old World tropics. The known hosts are pupae of Microlepidoptera belonging to the families Tortricidae , Pyralidae and Crambidae (Noyes 2017) . Only one species, A. hypsopygiae Masi, 1928 , has previously been recorded from Iran (Lotfalizadeh et al. 2012; Tavakoli Roodi et al. 2016).
