Antrocephalus subelongatus (Kohl, 1906) View in CoL

Halticella subelongata KOHL 1906: 117 . ORIgINAL DESCRIpTION ♂. SAUDI ARAbIA. Antrocephalus subelongatus ( KOHL): BOUčEk 1956: 240.

Material examined. Type material. Lectotype, a pinned ♂, designated by Bouček and validated here, labelled 'Aden, xii.98. leg. O. Simony' / ' subelongatus typs [manuscript] det. Kohl' / lectotype [in BMNH format] / ' Antrocephalus subelongatus Kohl Bouček det. 1952' [manuscript, in Bouček's handwriting] (in NHMW). Other material. IRAN: Fars, Larestan, loc. 3, 09.iv.2113 (1 ♂) (in JIAU).

Comment. A species complex around A. subelongatus exists in the Near East and includes at least four species. Relatively large samples will hopefully allow discrimination of the involved species together with association of the sexes. The female of A. subelongatus was collected in the UAE (Delvare 2017).

Distribution. Palaearctic: Saudi Arabia (Kohl 1906), Lebanon (Bouček, 1956) and Afrotropical: UAE (Delvare 2017). New for the Iranian fauna.

Hosts. Unknown.
