Ormyrus pomaceus View in CoL has been previously reported from Iran (OILB 1971; Azizkhani et al. 2005) and is present in northwest to western Provinces (Table 1). It is widely distributed from Japan to Europe as a parasitoid of Cynipidae View in CoL on Castanea View in CoL and Quercus ( Noyes 2011) View in CoL . In Iran it is found in the parasitoid community in galls of several species of Cynipidae View in CoL (listed above) and has been reared from galls of unnamed species of Dryocosmus Giraud View in CoL on two species of oak, Q. brantii View in CoL and Q. infectoria View in CoL .

As for O. nitidulus View in CoL , it displays morphological variation and molecular clades, and further study might show that O. pomaceus View in CoL is an aggregate of cryptic species.
