Paralichthys orbignyanus (Valenciennes 1839)

Extant specimens: MCUC ZOO.0000057 ( Fig. 31 ).

Classification on the specimen: “P. Th. Pleuronectes papillosus ”.

Common names on the specimen (Portuguese/Tupi): None.

Comments: See additional comments on the previous species. This species was undescribed at the time Veloso prepared it. Paralichthys orbignyanus occurs in the Southwestern Atlantic from Rio de Janeiro ( Brazil) to Argentina ( Figueiredo & Menezes 2000) .
