Diagnosis: Length 2.0 to 2.6 mm; width 1.5 to 1.8 mm. Dorsal color largely black; head yellow to orange; pronotum orange, except with basal black macula; elytra with apical eighth yellow to orange. Ventral color black, except legs, mouthparts and last three ventrites yellow. Males with first ventrite densely punctate on central part; fifth ventrite emarginate; sixth ventrite emarginate, depressed. Male genitalia with dorsal projections on parameres ( Fig. 28 View Figs ); penis guide wide, short, asymmetrical ( Fig. 29 View Figs ); penis robust at apical two-thirds ( Fig. 30 View Figs ).

Material Examined: More than 150 specimens ( FIC, CIUM) .

Distribution: United States of America and Mexico. In Mexico, this species has previously been collected from the states of Coahuila, Morelos and Tamaulipas ( Rodríguez-Vélez et al. 2016; Ruíz and Coronado 2002; Vanegas-Rico et al. 2010).

New Localities: HIDALGO: (16♀, 13♂) Huazalingo ( FIC), (1♀, 2♂) Huejutla ( FIC), (1♂) Molango ( FIC) . MICHOACÁN: (1♀) San Nicolas Simirao ( FIC) . QUERÉTARO: (1♀) Pinal de Amoles ( FIC) . VERACRUZ: (1♀) Huayacocotla ( FIC), (1♂) Xalapa ( CIUM) .

Biology: This species has been collected near colonies of Dactylopius opuntiae (Cockerell) on Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Miller, but direct predation has been not recorded ( Vanegas-Rico et al. 2010).
