Diagnosis. Cossus cossus omrana Wiltshire, 1957 and C. cossus kossai Wiltshire, 1957 were described from close localities in the Kurdistan of Iraq (Haj Omran and Shaqlawa) by Wiltshire in 1957. The distance between these two localities is 50 km. Moreover, no significant morphological differences were found among the examined material (including the type series) of both subspecies.
