Eritrichium longifolium Decne. View in CoL in Jacquemont (1844: 124).
Type:— INDIA. Himachal: Kioubrong-Ghauti, 5608 m, 12 August 1830, Jacquemont 1802 (holotype P-00606754!, isotype GH-
00097256!). = Eritrichium petiolare var. villosum W.T.Wang in Wang et al. (1980b: 516). syn. nov. Type:— CHINA. Xizang: Gar, 5000 m, 29 July 1976, Qinghai-Xizang Exped. 76-8326 (holotype PE-00029597!, isotypes QTPMB-57944!,
KUN-1218636!).
Distribution and habitat: —Mainly distributed in Xizang (Zanda, Gar and Rutog) of China and adjacent areas in northeastern India. It grows in slope with rubble, rock crevices and alpine shrubs at elevations between 4500–5608 m.
Phenology: —Flowering and fruiting from June to September.
Taxonomic notes: — Eritrichium longifolium is very closely related to E. petiolare W.T. Wang (1980b: 516) in linear-spathulate leaf blades, blue and campanulate-rotate corollas, glabrous nutlets with borad wings. However, it is readily distinguished from the latter by the obviously spreading villous and short inflorescences. The main differences among E. longifolium , E. petiolare and E. aktonense are summarized in Table 1.
