New records. BRAZIL • 1 specimen; Piauí, Piracuruca, Sete Cidades National Park , II Cidade; 04°05′85″S, 041° 41′69″W; 2 Feb. 2017; G. M. G Nascimento leg. (HUESPI 335) .
Identification. Leaves lanceolate leaves; apex acute, with hyaline or reddish apical cells and unipapillary lamellar cells. This species resembles Fissidens angustifolius Sull. , and Fissidens goyazensis Broth. However , F. angustifolius has the costa precurrent, the limbidium not-terminating below the apex, and hyaline apical cells are absent; F. goyazensis differs by having the leaves lig- ulate and the costa precurrent to excurrent. Briocenological group: saxicolous and terricolous.
Brazilian range. CE, PA, PB (restricted distribution). Newly recorded from the Cerrado.
