Octotoma championi View in CoL was previously known from the United States, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama ( Staines 1989, 2006). The species is a leaf-miner in Lantana camara View in CoL L., L. hispida View in CoL H. B. K., and L. trifolia View in CoL L. ( Verbenaceae View in CoL ) ( Staines 1989, 2006).
