Figs 29, 30 View FIGURES 16 – 30 , 58 View FIGURES 47 – 65 , 74 View FIGURES 66 – 79 , 151–161 View FIGURES 151 – 161 .

Head and thorax orange yellow with dark brown spots as indicated below. Forewing reddish with apical third hyaline. Anterior area of crown with arrow shaped stripe, with arrow head on anterior part of crown and stem along half length of keel on frontoclypeus, one spot closer to each eye behind and enclosing inner margin of ocellus piceous, frontoclypeus more rich in colour compared to crown. Pronoutm yellowish, with median anterior elongate spot, lateral pair of depressed areas, fuscous. Mesonotum and scutellum dark reddish brown, one spot on propleuron, one spot on mesepisternum, entire mesosternum and base of meta coxae, fuscous. Fore femora dorsally darker than ventral half, meso and meta femora darker in ventral aspect than on dorsum, tibiae and tarsi yellow; claws fuscous. Forewing in basal 0.66 carmine red, apical 0.33 hyaline. Hind wings smoky with dark brown venation.

Crown declivous anteriorly with median carina and posterior transverse reflexed carinate margin and anterior effaced carinae defining a rather depressed triangular crown. Frontoclypeus swollen almost hemispherical, with prominent transverse striae indicating muscle impressions. Pronotum with median deep depression in anterior half, and lateral depressions divided into anterior and posterior parts by transverse median smooth ridge, surface very coarsely pitted, scutellum swollen, not punctate, polished.

Male genitalia. Pygofer with dorsal margin convex, posteriorly declivous, ventral margin slightly sinuate anteriorly then almost straight with bifid ventroposterior process, anterior fork shorter and more slender, directed dorsally, posterior fork stouter and longer, directed posteodorsally, both acutely pointed at apex. Subgenital plate rather triangular with long hair like setae on lateral margin and shorter setae on ventral surface, plate about four times as long as wide at base. Style S-shaped, anterior half stout, apophysis curved with row of setae on dorsal margin, apex globose and rough sculptured, ventral margin serrated. Connective Y-shaped, arms about as long as stem, latter with dorsal keel extending anteriorly between arms. Aedeagus complex, preatrium elongated with finger like process on posterior margin ventrad of aedeagal shaft, about as long as wide with preatrium in lateral view; shaft cylindrical in distal 0.66, basal 0.33 broader with U-shaped dorsal apodeme and blunt lateral projections for articulation with ventral process, gonopore large and apical; ventral processes Y-shaped with arms of Y strongly divergent with their distal apices recurved and pointed in dorsal and ventral views, in lateral view, forked portion shorter than basal stem, stouter at midlength, curved gradually and narrowed to an acute posterior point. Segment X with short angular ventral projection, large, pigmented anal style longer than wide.

Measurements. Male 8.4 mm long, 2.3 mm wide across eyes and 2.1 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum.

Material examined: THAILAND: Holotype Ƌ, Thailiand (NW): Chiang Mai: Fang , 500 m, iv.12 -(19)68, T.C. Maa Collector No. 369 ( BPBM) . Paratype: 1 Ƌ, same data as holotype except iv.19 -(19)68, and No. 378 ( BMNH).

Etymology. The species name alludes to the red colour of the forewings.

Remarks. Among the species of Signoretia , this species is probably the largest, most robust and colourful. It resembles S. sumatrana Schmidt from which it differs in having orange reddish coloration. Both species have similar forewing venation in the apical region ( Figs 44 View FIGURES 31 – 46 and 161 View FIGURES 151 – 161 ) and have a forked ventral pygofer process.
