Signoretia greeni Distant View in CoL
Figs 12, 13 View FIGURES 1 – 15 , 68 View FIGURES 66 – 79 .
Signoretia greeni Distant 1908: 223 View in CoL , fig. 147.
Material examined. SRI LANKA: Lectotype ♀ (here designated) , Ceylon, Maskeliya , Green ( BMNH) . Remarks. Distant described this species from an unspecified number of specimens collected from “Ceylon, Maskeliya”.
Among the species of Signoretia occurring on the Indian subcontinent, this species can be easily recognised by its chocolate brown dorsum with median ochraceous stripe on the head and thorax and also by the angular projection on the clypellus in profile ( Fig. 68 View FIGURES 66 – 79 ). S. sumatrana is also a chocolate brown coloured species but differs from S. greeni in lacking the median pale stripe on head and pronotum.
