Diagnosis. The new species is similar to S. grandaedeaga Zhang et Wang, 2006 ( Zhang & Wang 2006) in male genitalia. It can be distinguished from the latter in the forewing by the distinct three dark brown fasciae, tegumen with terminal subrectangular portion in the male genitalia, and the corpus bursae with two signa in the female genitalia. In S. grandaedeaga , the forewing has one distinct dark brown fascia, tegumen has terminal triangular portion.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 1a View FIGURE 1 ). Wing expanse 10.5–11.5 mm. Vertex and forehead dark brown. Antenna brown. Labial palpus yellowish brown mixed with black scales, second segment 1.5 times length of diameter of compound eyes, third segment about 1/5 length of second segment. Thorax and tegula brown. Forewing ground color brownish black on upperside, mixed with yellowish brown scales; subbasal, median and postmedian fasciae dark brown, extending obliquely outward from costal margin; costa with nine white strigulae from base to vein R 4, strigulae 1 and 2 indistinct, strigulae 3 and 4 between subbasal and median fasciae, strigulae 5 and 6 appearing as two marks, pairs of strigulae 7–9 distributed between veins R 1 -R 2, R 2 -R 3 and R 3 -R 4, respectively, becoming confluent and extending obliquely to R 5 and M 1 at termen; cilia brownish black. Hindwing and cilia brownish black. Fore- and midlegs yellowish brown, tarsi with black rings; hindleg yellowish brown. Abdomen with upperside dark brown and underside brown.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 1b View FIGURE 1 ): Tegumen high, with terminal subrectangular portion. Uncus absent. Socius with long hairs, terminal end round. Valva with basal half broad, narrow to distal half; costa nearly straight and with long hairs distally; basal cavity about half length of valva; sacculus moderately setose; cucullus subrectangular with a dorsl pollex bearing a stout spine. Aedeagus tapering from base to apex, strongly sclerotized, length 0.8 times of valva; cornuti absent.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 1c View FIGURE 1 ): Papilla analis hairy, with anterior half narrower than posterior half. Apophyses posteriores slightly shorter than apophyses anteriores. Sterigma broadly U-shaped. Antrum distinct, about 1/5 length of ductus bursae. Ductus bursae as long as corpus bursae, widened toward corpus bursae anteriorly; ductus seminalis from anterior 2/5 of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae broadly pear-shaped, with two round signa placed near opening of corpus bursae.

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin tri - (= three) and - strigma (= stripe), indicating three dark brown stripes distributed at the subbasal fasciae, median fascia and postmedian fascia respectively.

Distribution. China ( Taiwan, Yunnan).
