scientific name

Aristolochia baetica L.
status

Aristolochia baetica Linnaeus View in CoL , Species Plantarum 2: 961. 1753.

"Habitat in Hispania, Creta, arbores scandens." RCN: 6959.

Lectotype (designated here by De Groot, Wanke & Neinhuis): [icon] " Aristolochia Clematitis Baetica " in Clusius, Rar. Pl. Hist. 2: 71. 1601.

Current name: Aristolochia baetica L. View in CoL View at ENA ( Aristolochiaceae ).

Note: De Groot & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 151: 225, 236. 2006) wrongly indicated 1071.5 (LINN) as the holotype. This collection lacks the relevant Species Plantarum number (i.e. “6”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
