Lectotype (designated here):— MONTENEGRO. Mts Komovi : “In glareosis sub Visoke grede m. Kom (Bertiscus)”, September 1873, Pančić s.n. ( K000762769 !).

Notes:— We found the original material of Valeriana bertiscea View in CoL in the herbaria BEOU, G, K, and PAD. Although Pančić stayed on Mt. Kom for only two days, the month of the collection written on the labels of the two specimens deposited in G and PAD is August and on the labels of the other two specimens deposited in BEOU and K is September. Only one precise locality is given in the protologue (“Visoke Grede”) and it is written on the label of the specimen deposited in K, alongside September as the month of the collection, hence we designate this specimen as lectotype .

Notes:—Two specimens belonging to the original material were discovered in BEOU. The specimen designated as lectotype is more complete and has more detailed label information compared to the isolectotype.
