Type species. Neopotamocypris indivisa gen. nov. sp. nov. (here designated)
Etymology. The name of new genus is the combination of “Neo” (new) and the root “ Potamocypris ” in relation to the new characters in the tribe and its closely related genus, Potamocypris .
Diagnosis. RV overlapping LV ventrally, LV with anterior and posterior inwardly displaced selvage. A1 seven-segmented. A2 natatory setae long. Terminal segment of Md-palp with robust claws set with (strong) setules, α seta with flagellum-like tip, γ seta long with flagellum-like ending. Mx1-palp with spatula-shaped terminal segment, lateral subapical seta on basal segment robust with long setules ending, lateral setae on third endite robust with very long apical setules. T2 with undivided penultimate segment, d2 seta present (d1 seta absent). T3 with pincer organ, d1 seta absent. CR reduced, flagellum-like, with triangular base.
