Discussion: Combined with Alouattinae as family Atelidae by Rosenberger (1977). Divided into subtribes Atelina ( Ateles only) and Brachytelina ( Lagothrix , Brachyteles ) by Goodman et al. (1998), who did not study Oreonax .
