Distribution in Canada and Alaska.
MB, ON, QC, NB ( Bousquet et al. 2013).
Comments.
This species has been treated by some authors as a subspecies of Agrilus politus (Say), which uses various willow ( Salix ) species as larval hosts ( Paiero et al. 2012). Larvae of Agrilus pseudocoryli Fischer, in contrast, have been recorded from American hazelnut ( Corylus americana Walter) and beaked hazelnut ( Corylus cornuta Marsh.) ( Paiero et al. 2012). Specimens from NB were collected on the foliage of beaked hazelnut. We have found specimens of Agrilus politus in NB on the foliage of willow, and they have a slightly differently shaped aedeagus from those of Agrilus pseudocoryli .
