Comments: This species was described upon both sexes and the eggs from Lanyuh Island southeast of Taiwan. It appears to be endemic to this particular island and is reported to be very commonly found around Hungtou Village, predominantly on Bischoffia javanica (Euphorbiaceae) (Huang & Brock, 2001). It is closely related to the type-species P. s a n c h e z i (Bolívar, 1897) from the Philippines and shares with it the vestigial tegmina and alae of 3, entirely smooth body, and alae of ƤƤ being larger than the tegmina with the anal region black. From P. sanchezi it however differs by: the more robust body, relatively shorter mesothorax, relatively larger head and shorter antennae of both sexes, and more prominently swollen mesothorax, shorter alae and shorter subgenital plate of ƤƤ. The eggs are larger than those of P. sanchezi (capsule length 4.0 mm compared to 2.9 mm for P. sanchezi ) and have the micropylar plate considerably more elongate (3.0 mm). Measurements according to Huang & Brock (2001: 10) [in mm]: ƤƤ: body length 158.0–162.0, tegmina 1.0–1.5, alae 5.0–6.2, 3: body length 114.0–117.0, tegmina 0.8–1.0, alae 0.8–1.5.
