Genus Anadolua Ramme, 1939 View in CoL
The general morphology of all species provides the basic characteristics of Anadolua as follows. Fastigium slightly wider than the broad side of the basal segment of the antennae, and broadly rounded at the front when viewed from the above. A black band between the eyes can be sometimes seen. In dorsal aspect, the pronotum is weakly flattened in the prozona but distinctly flattened in the metazona, and has a deep transverse depression behind the middle, while its posterior edge is broadly rounded ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 and 3 View FIGURE 3 ); also, lateral keels of pronotum mostly weak; the hind border is curved upwards strongly in male and weakly in the female. Tegmina micropterous in male ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ), squamipterous in female. Prosternum is armed with a pair of slender spines; mesosternum and metasternum provided with stouter spines. The ventral spines of the first and second pair of legs are very strongly developed. The dorsal spinules are present only on the hind-tibiae. The dorsal apical spines are absent in all tibiae. Last tergite of male bears a deep or wide excision ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ) and wide excision in female ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ). Subgenital plate with a deep acutangular or rounded obtusangular excision in male ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). Female subgenital plate large, with a distinct angled excision, and a diamond or pentagonal like depression at the base of plate ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ). Cerci curved medially and armed with apical tooth in male ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ) but not in female ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ). The basal arms of the titillator are spineless, while the apical arms bear a small number of spines near the tip ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ). Ovipositor weakly structured, straight or slightly curved upwards ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 ). The general colour is red brown with brown spots or blackish grey with black spots.
